RECAP | Raincoast Books Fall 2022 TBR Preview

Raincoast Books' The TBR Preview for Fall 2022 was, like always, an amazing event to take part in! On Saturday June 11th, numerous book enthusiasts from bloggers, booksellers, librarians, to bibliophiles connected in that moment for The Fall 2022 TBR Preview, an event hosted by the Raincoast Books' team online via Crowdmark. This was my fifth time attending their event.

It began right away with the Raincoast Books' team detailing all the new upcoming releases for Fall 2022. Every single book discussed honestly sounded intriguing, leading me to look forward to many of their releases and adding them to my own personal TBR. You can check out all the books discussed at The TBR Preview Fall 2022  by clicking the book image below, it will lead you to their Goodreads page.

Once all the Fall 2022 books were presented and discussed, a special guest was introduced to those attending the event. We were all extremely excited to see up-and-coming author Alexene Farol Follmuth, known under the pen name Olivie Blake, present. She presented her latest release, The Atlas Six, and detailed all her upcoming works including: The Atlas Paradox, My Mechanical Romance, Twelfth Night, Awe of the Night Approaching, Alone With You in the Ether, and more. After she detailed her releases and gave a brief background regarding The Atlas Paradox series, we then had an opportunity to ask any questions we had for Olivie Blake.

Everyone who had the opportunity to attend the event also
had the chance to win one of three awesome prize packs.
It was an extremely wonderful event to attend and I can't thank the Raincoast Books' team enough for not only inviting me to the TBR Preview but for also hosting it! ðŸ˜Š

Also some digital swag!

Besides spending time with the Raincoast Books' team once more and getting to meet guest author Olivie Blake (which was immensely exciting in and of itself), we also were provided a digital swag bag for attending the event. It included two pre-approved eGalleys - which are digital advance reader copies - and swag from a copy of the complete catalogue itself in order to follow along with the titles, phone wallpapers, Zoom backgrounds, social media graphics, as well as a sneak peek at Blake's The Atlas Paradox.

RECAP | Penguin Teen Social 2022

Penguin Random House Canada Young Readers' Penguin Teen Social 2022 was so much fun to attend! On Thursday June 2nd, a bunch of bloggers, booktubers, librarians, and so many more got together for Penguin Teen Social 2022, an event hosted by the Penguin Random House Canada Young Readers team online. This was my second time attending the event.

It began right away featuring the Penguin 10: the top ten books you need to read this Fall 2022
. We first opened up with the some middle grade fiction novels that sound truly interesting (especially Fagan's Water, Water and Yoshino's How Do You Live?), and then delved into some Summer Staff Picks.
Sam's picks included Follmuth's My Mechanical Heart and Deo's TJ Power Has Something to ProveSylvia's picks included Shim's The Noh Family and Ahn's I Guess I Live Here NowEvan's picks were Glasgow & Lawson's The Agathas and Walton's On the Subject of Unmentionable Things.

From there, some upcoming 2022 releases were briefly displayed and described. There was a variety of upcoming releases that was exciting to hear about. It also had had a clip from E. Lockhart, who filmed on the roof of her building, describing the prequel to her novel, We Were Liars. Her attention detail when describing Family of Liars (05/22), made it sound like a truly intriguing read and one that I definitely intend to pick up soon.

All participants attending the event also had the opportunity to win amazing prize packs which included some of the Penguin Random House Canada Young Readers team's Summer picks. It was an absolutely fun event to attend! Thanks to the Penguin teen staff for inviting me to this entertaining event and for hosting it! 😊

Here are some of the books discussed at the event:
